Three Days Bale Mountains Trekking CODE: (SP-BMT-3D)

Day 1

Drive to Dinsho, Bale mountains national park HQ – Goba:
In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to Dinsho via Shashemenne (4000km from Addis). Enroute you will make a stop on Lake Ziway (best known for its birdlife to visit aquatic birds. Up on arrival we will do all the requirements for short easy hike at the Bale mountains national park, Headquarter along the woodland part to see antelope families. Later late in the afternoon drive to Goba 45km from Dinsho for overnight stay. In the evening you will have dinner and stay the night at the hotel.
Overnight Goba Wabeshebelle hotel (Robe town selected Hotel ) Camping at Dinsho.

Day 2

Drive to sanetti plateau and Harenna forest:
In the morning, you will have breakfast and drive to the sanetti plateau (altitude of the 4000metre the largest afro alpine area in Africa and the place to see rare and endangered Ethiopian Wolf) and the scenery then proceed to Harenna forest via Tullu Deemtu (4377m) the second highest point in Ethiopia. Overnight Goba Wabeshebelle hotel:
(Robe town selected Hotel ) Camping at Dinsho.

Day 3

Drive to Addis Ababa via Asella for departure:
After breakfast, you will driving to Addis Ababa and you will stop for lunch at Asella. We will arrive in Addis Ababa late afternoon where you will do some shopping for souvenirs. Finally you will be taken to farewell dinner depending on your schedule flight.

Day 1

TREK DINSHO TO SODOTA.
You will have a bale mountain trekking for 5-6 hours to sodota through the finch Habera waterfall and where the Web and wolla rivers join. This area is an outstanding bird watching spot,particularly for
raptors and chance to see the rare and endangered Ethiopian Wolf.Set up for overnight in
Sodota campsite.
Elevation:3100-3500M
Distance :20km(5-6hrs).
Overnight:Sodota camp(3500m asl).

Day 2

SODOTA TO WASEMA CAMP.
Today you will make your way through meraro valley for 5-6 hours until you reach wassema wilderness campsite.The trails is covered predominantly in Erica vegetation, which in turn leads into afro alpine habitats.Arrive at the campsite ,located at the base
of wassema mountain (4200 metres) and if the time permits,you can also make short
1 hour trek to the summit which offers superb panoramic views.
Elevation:3500-4000m
Distance :18km(5-6hrs).
Overnight:Wassema camp(4000m asl).

Day 3

TREK WASSEMA TO SANETTE CAMP.
Leaving the wassema hills behind ,you will head towards Sannette for 6-7hours,following worgona valley.Here the scenery changes dramatically as you pass the magnificent sheer
cliff of Arch’aah. From here heading to sannete pass via the craggy plug of Batu (4307m)
and camp overnight in Sanette camp.
Elevation:4000-4100m
Distance:22km(6-7hrs)
Overnight:Sanette camp.

DAY 4

CAR WILL BE PICK UP FROM THE CAMP AND DROP OF IN GOBA/ROBE
Today after leisurely breakfast you will pack up your tents as soon as met with car drive to the highest point of Ethiopia Tullu Demtu 4377 ” Red mountain”in local language) ;chance to see more Ethiopian wolves and you will get back to Robe.

Five Days Bale Mountains Trekking CODE: (SP-BMT-5D)

Day 1

Addis Ababa – Bale Mountains
Drive from Addis to the Bale Mountains National Park.  Arrive at the park headquarters in the afternoon, in time for a leisurely afternoon hike, possibly spotting two endemic mammals that frequent the area:  Menelik’s Bushbuck and the Mountain Nyala.  Birds in this area include the Blue-Winged Goose, the Spot-Breasted Lapwing, the Abyssinian Long Claw, the Wattled Ibis, the Black-Headed Siskin, Rouget’s Rail, and numerous other species.   Overnight camping near park entrance.Overnight Camping.

Day 2

Trek to Sodota 
Walk through Dinsho and enter the National Park. Around Dinsho, the Mountain Nyala and Menelik’s Bushbuck should be visible. While trekking through the park, there will be a chance to see Ethiopian Wolves. Stop by Habera Waterfall for a nice break. Hiking will take 6-7 hours.Camping at Sodota.

Day 3

Trek to Wasama
Trek to Wasama through a beautiful landscape with stunning views.  Pass through Mararo Valley where the Lammergeyer and Verraux Eagles keep nests. There will also be a chance a seeing the Ethiopian Wolf and other species of birds. Around 5-6 hours of trekking.Camping at Wasama.

DAY 4

Trek to Gebre Gurracha. 
Start the day by hiking up Mt. Wasama (4200m) and then continue down into the Worgona Valley. Falcons, raptors, and possibly the Ethiopian wolf will be visible. End the day at Lake Gebre Gurracha, meaning “black lake” in the Oromic language. Trekking will take 6-7 hours.Camping at Gebre Gurracha.

Day 5

Take a short trek from Gebre Gurracha up to the Sennati Plateau to meet vehicles. Return to Addis Ababa.
